Sandi Logan’s “Betrayed” is a relentlessly fascinating, sometimes hilarious and often jaw-dropping true story of two American women who became unwitting drug mules.

Its 1977.  Vera Hays and Florice Bessire agree to drive a van from Europe to Australia at the request of Vera’s nephew. Did they know the van was loaded with two tonnes of hashish?

On their treacherous journey, with cops and criminals closing in, they must hide their forbidden love for each other as well as their role in Australia’s biggest drug haul ever.
