FOOTY by Jem SURFING by Sol THE SHIVERING SPARROW
Av Bulldogs and Sharks footy are my passion. The waves are big, the waves are small Poor little sparrow
Kickin’, passin’, try scorin’ and dashin’ I’m never going to catch them all I hope you’re not in pain
Red and green socks, blue and white jersey Oh look that wave just crashed shiver, shiver, shivering
On the field we show NO MERCY! and I just got totally smashed in the pouring rain
But now the footy season is off It was about four foot or so Dear little sparrow
No training or game day, we’ll all turn soft I turned my board around too slow Stuck out in the storm
Instead of tackles, scoreboards and cheers I guess I’m not quite yet a pro I wish that I could bring you in
All over the beaches and shire are tears maybe in a day or so where it’s nice and warm.
But wait….“there is hope” our coach declares Come on little sparrow
90 more days lockdown if you dare I’ll dry you off you’ll see
Then the whistle will blow, boots will go on I’ll get you nice and cosy
And you’ll be chanting with mates your old footy song as warm as you can be Fly little sparrow up into the tree Bye little sparrow, go and be free
